BEWITCH came to me (Kendra Belgrad, also known as KendraCrows, a Grey Witch) in the Fall of 2023. Not as an idea I sat down to create, but as something that was given. A whisper from Spirit. A light turning on in a dark room. A truth I suddenly remembered, not something I invented.It was one of those moments where the name speaks for itself, and the soul recognizes it before the mind does.<h3>A Spark in the Community</h3> At the time, a conversation was happening within the local witchcraft community in South-Central Pennsylvania. A young witch in Hanover, Pennsylvania, faced a tense encounter with police over an outdated fortune-telling law. The situation stirred emotions, reactions, and questions.As I watched the community respond, I realized something deeper was happening. It wasn’t about the law. It wasn’t about conflict. It was about identity.It revealed how easily witches can feel misunderstood, challenged, or pressured to justify their beliefs.And that is when the truth rose:We did not have a unified way to name the sacred work we do.<h3>The Realization</h3> We needed a word — one we chose for ourselves — that represents: - Our craft - Our intuition - Our sacred work - Our spiritual presence - Our wholenessA name that did not apologize. A name not tied to fear or stereotype. A name that honors the path we walk.The word came:BEWITCHNot as a spell. Not as a label. But as a calling.<h3>Why BEWITCH</h3> BEWITCH is not about impressing anyone. It is not about theatrics. It is not about trying to be something.It is about remembering what we already are.A witch who is in alignment with spirit — Who channels, listens, tends, heals, guides —It is not performing.They are being.And to be&nbsp;witch is to&nbsp;BEWITCH.<h3>The Tree &amp; The Community</h3> The symbol of BEWITCH is the Tree: - Roots in the Earth and the Past - Branches reaching toward Spirit and the Unseen - Life held in the trunk — the Self, the Soul, the Here and NowIt reminds us that every path is individual, but we grow together. We learn together. We hold one another with care.Here, under the branches of this Tree, we gather as a community. Not to match each other. Not to compete. But to belong.<h3>What BEWITCH Means Today</h3> BEWITCH is now the name I offer to others who walk this path — A place of: - Spiritual grounding - Shared wisdom - Protection - Reverence - MagicThose who come to me enter a sacred space — whether indoors, outdoors, or in spirit.
